Day 1 and 2

Day 1 - July 6, 2006 I arrived at the clinic at 7:30 AM for my hair transplant and was greeted by a very friendly staff who put my mind at ease. After getting my anesthetic Dr. jones began to cut the donor strip at the back of my head. Like so many others have said in their blogs, there was no pain. The strip was then handed to the technicians and under a microscope they cut the individual hair follicles. Dr. Jones proceeded to prepare the areas for the grafts. This went on until 4:30 with a lunch break in between. I was very comfortable and cannot say enough about the wonderful care that I received. I watched 2 DVD's and actually dozed off a couple of times. After I got home I had supper and took 1 Tylenol 3 as instructed for pain ( although I didn't really have any) and 1 Novolexin. I slept sitting up on our couch so the back of my head wouldn't touch anything. It was a challenge, but I did sleep on and off. My wife was surprised at how good I looked and she couldn't even see the donor scar as my existing hair ( wavy and a bit longer than usual) covered it nicely. Good job, Doc Jones!
Day 2: I got up and felt good and still had no pain. I had breakfast and took only Novolexin ( 4X day as prescribed). Did a few chores around the house and soaked my head in the bathtub for 20 min. as per Dr. orders. Went for a short walk, then relaxed. After lunch I ran some errands wearing my baseball cap. Around 3:00 PM I felt a slight pain in the donor area close to my ears so I took 1 Tylenol 2. I soaked once more before supper. Resisted a beer once again with my supper, watched the ballgame on TV and called it a day around 11:00. Took another Tylenol 2 before hitting the sack ...I mean couch. Slept upright again.
