Day 3, 4 and 5
Day 3 - July 8, 2006 Got up at 6:00...still had a little pain in the donor area so took 1 Tylenol 2. Soaked head for 20 min. The scabs are disappearing . I could actually see some little red dots floating in the water. I drove into Hamilton with my wife, then after I came home I puttered around the house. I felt great all day...no pain at all. I rewarded myself with a beer at supper... Ahhhh!! I slept in my own bed with 3 pillows and was fine until 4:00 when I got up and took a tylenol as my incision was a bit sore from the pressure of the propped up pillows. Went back to sleep and slept until 8:00 ( we're now into Day 4).
Day 4 - July 9, 2006 I had breakfast and soaked my head. The redness is disappearing and the scabs are falling off. Also the donor area is not visible at all. I went for a short walk, came home and did some chores...even vacuumed which is not typical of me at all!! Then I was guilt free to watch the World cup, Molson Grand Prix and the Blue Jay game. Felt great all day. Soaked one more time and went to bed...still propped up on 3 pillows.
Day 5, July 10, 2006 I haven't sent a picture today as there is not a significant change. I went back to work and had no pain whatsoever. I wore a baseball cap all day and had a little itchiness. Only have 1 day left to take the Novolexin. My head is looking good and I got some encouraging words from the guys at work! I'm really happy that I went through with the transplant and am surprised at how easy the post-op has gone so far. Will be back when I have something new to report ...stay tuned!
