Day 7 and 8 Post-Op

Day 7 Ran 5 K today and was caught in the rain, but it was a warm 12 degrees and the rain felt soooooo good on the top of my head. The good sweat seemed to have loosened up quite a few crusts on the top and my head just felt better in general. It seems that Dr. J may be on to something. Strong cardio and healthy eating will certainly promote quicker healing time in general, but it will be interesting to see if I also get early regrowth between 8-12 weeks (as per Dr. J's blog) . Head feels really good today, almost back to normal. Checked in with Natalie to see if I can let the shower run over my head (no rubbing), and seems to be okay with light pressure only. Have practice tonight so I plan on taking a lot of ribbing from the guys. But then again, they're free to make fun about me having hair anytime!
Day 8 Sweated a lot at practice last night, and the crusts really began to lift. To anyone about to go through the process, I suggest starting running soapy water over your head as soon as possible, which will help dry out the crusts and get them to lift. Today, I soaked my head three times, but decided to wait to go under the shower until tomorrow.
