Day 2
I dropped by to see Dr. Jones yesterday and he told me that the second night would be the last I would have to sleep in my chair and that it would be the most uncomfortable night.
As the first day continued the only thing that really started to bother me was the itchy feeling at my donor site stiches. I soaked in the tub twice yesterday and my teenage children laughed at me with visions of me lying in the tub.
We went out for dinner and I think the kids were pleased when we were given a very private table so I could remove my hat. Once again, they laughed at me when they were convinced the waitress took a double take when she saw my head. I think it was their imagination.
I still have not used any of the pain killers Dr. Jones prescribed. I just grew up in a household that did not use medication and I don't think I would describe anything I'm feeling as pain.
What I really want to do is wash my hair! Dr. Jones was right; I didn't sleep very well and I woke up regularly with discomfort. Again, I wouldn't describe it as pain just itchy.
