August 2

I took the kids out for dinner at The Olde Spaghetti Factory last night. They seemed to be very relieved when we were given a very private booth and they told me I was permitted to remove my hat. They laughed at me when they were convinced that the waitress took a double take when she saw my head. I don't think she even noticed.

I went for a long walk last night and the exercise did not seem to have any adverse affect. When I woke up this morning I realized that the scabbing is becoming very dark and I would expect that in the next day or so the scabs will start to fall off. Unlike most people who have a hair transplant, lots of people are aware of my surgery. As a result, many people ask me to remove my hat and show them Dr. Jones’ work. Without fail, I get the same reaction from everyone who observes my head. First, they want to know if it hurt and then they all comment that it looks much better than they thought it would so soon after surgery. They are amazed that the stitches for the donor site can’t even be seen. I really want to wash my hair. That is the one thing I can hardly wait to do.
