6 1/2 Months
It's been 6 1/2 months since the operation. Still very bald. I saw the doctor & he said I should have a pretty good idea of the total results by Christmas(2 more months). I hope that a lot of hair regrowth happens in the next 2 months because the waiting has been so long. I do have just enough hair now so that I can use the Toppik. A couple of months ago the powder left visible splotches on my scalp so I didn't use it.

3 Months
It's been nearly 3 months. Not much has changed since I last reported. So far I'm still waiting to see noticeable/significant results. There are many short hairs starting to grow. I first noticed them at about the 2 month mark. It's hard to tell if they're from the recent transplant or the preexisting hair starting to grow again. I still have too much scalp showing to use "Toppik". I wear a hat all the time. My scalp looks as if it has been scarred by acne from all the transplants. & so far the look of the thin hair in the transplanted area looks odd next to the non-transplant area. So hopefully a month from now I'll have at least enough hair to start using "Toppik" again to blend the transplant area with the non-transplant area.

Ken, Day 11
May 2nd - I had stitches out. Still quite a number of scabs on top. More larger scabs still in the donor area but they're not visible. May 3 - shock loss has noticibaly started. I believe the transplants as well as the surrounding hair has started to fallout, but Dr. Jones assures me that all loss from shock returns. May 7 -Donor area is a little tender & itchy. still quite a number of scabs. The product Toppik is helping with my insecurity. The photo from today has toppik in it so it's a little deceiving. I could have used more toppik. So I actually have quite a bit less hair than it appears in the photo. I'm also using toppik to hide the scar from a previous transplant by another doctor.

Still quite a few scabs. I guess there's some shock loss. Maybe I'm temporarily balder at this point then I was before the operation. I lost my baseball cap. The graft bumps on my scalp are visible. Luckily I have "toppik". I felt ok to go out once I applied "toppik". The photos are with me after I applied "Toppik" hours earlier to my hair. I could have applied more but I felt it was enough.

Ken, Day 6
Not much has changed; my scalp is pretty itchy and the small scabs are coming off. When I look closely I can see slight bruising, nothing that anyone will notice. I am surprised by the minimal bruising in fact, my three previous transplants left me with black eyes. Everything is going smoothly, I'll keep you updated.

Ken, Day 2

No change since the first day in look or feel. No swelling or bleeding since the operation. No tightness in the donor area on the back of my head. (No problem shoulder checking while driving). Scabs& redness/pinkness on top are the same. Scar on the back that had implants put into it is the same - reddish & bumpy. Very slight occasional itchiness in the donor area I've been wearing a loose fitting cap when I go out. I'm very careful putting it on& off. When the doctor says it's ok I'll put on some "Toppik" in my hair to hide the scabs/redness. Haven't combed my hair yet but when I do it will be with a wide tooth comb, slow & gentle. There will be no tugging or not touching the scalp with the teeth of the comb. Don't want to pull any grafts out. No problems with the medications.Haven't needed any pain killers.

Ken, Day 1

My hair started thinning in my teens. I'm in my mid-forties. I had 3 small transplants about 6-7 years ago by 2 other doctors. I was somewhat satisfied by those procedures at the time. Over the years I continued to bald.Over time I was becoming aware that people were looking at my hair/hair line rather than my eyes in conversation. I think the only hair I still had on top before this recent procedure was from those transplants. Before this latest procedure, balding was significant between where the previous transplants ended & where the hair line had receded to on the back & sides. The old transplant area on top was kind of an "island" & even this transplanted area on top was very thin. You could clearly see the bumps/grafts on the top of my head from the previous transplants. Summary of my hair problems before my transplant with Dr. Jones; 1. unnatural looking hairline in front. 2. visible scar on the back of my head from a previous transplant. 3. new balding areas between the old transplantsfrom 6-7 years ago & where my hair has actually receded to today. 4.thinness of hair on top in the old transplant area. I had my 4th hair transplant today, the first I've had at the Dr. Jones Clinic in Oakville. I had hair transplanted to the entire top of my head plus about 100 grafts were transplanted in the visible scar on the back of my head.
