QUESTION: Can I use members of my family as donors? What are the options if I do not want to lose hair on the donor area of my head? I am a 52 yr old female with overall thinning and definate thinning on the top of my head.I am ready to proceed with a resolution and am exploring all possible solutions. Thank you for any help
ANSWER: Hi Teresa, There have been attempts made to use other family members to donate hair, but all have failed except if the genetic match is identical( as with twins).
The only other possibility is to use Minoxidil or try Instanthair. Both can be ordered through my site.

QUESTION: After the transplant what will happen to the donor area where the hair has been taken from? will there be a scar?
ANSWER: With state of the art techniques and the latest “trichophitic closure” ( see my web site drrobertjones.com for details), the scar is almost undetectable. In some cases due to differences in patient healing a scar can be seen, but can be repaired with the fue technique. I do this free of charge if patients are unhappy with there scar.
